LOAD: Layout-A-Day #1

Okay - So I joined a FREE class at Big Picture Scrapbooking.

No specific rules - Just do a layout - any layout - every single day for 31 days in January and post them in their gallery. I did it - 1 down 30 more to go....
We'll see how long I can keep this up.
This layout is just a simple 6 x 12.

We went to T.G.I. Friday's today. The red and white striped papers are from the restaurant. They were wrapped around the silverware & napkins. The "Fridays" are actually from the sugar packets. The menu was just printed out from their web site on line. The red triangle eyelets mark what I had for dinner. (The Parmesan Crusted Sicilian Quesadilla appetizers were the best!!!!!!!!!!)

Three Years Ago

Today is 1/1/08.

It is a start of a new year.

In one way it is a wonderful thing because we get to look forward to all the wonderful things for the coming year.

In another way it is a sad day for me because it marks three years since my Mother died.
I miss her so much.

Well, today is Christmas and I feel cranky.

So what else is new.........

A lot has happened and I have not been blogging.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

December 1 -
We went to NYC. Had to go to the Hungarian Deli to pick up the Hungarian Candies (szalon cukor) that I always put on our tree.
We had lunch at a Hungarian restaurant.

Bobby had Veal Paprikash, I had Turoscsusza (Noodles with farmers cheese & bacon) and Bob just stuck to good old (but boring) BLT & grilled chicken salad...........
For desert I had my favorite:
Chestnut Puree & a cappuchino.

YUMMY!!!

After that we headed down to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree.

We had a great time looking at all the great window displays for Saks, Fendi, Cartier, etc. - Too bad the only thing we bought at this point were hats from the street vendors...

Hey - But looking at windows & dreaming is free so it's all good.........

After getting pretzels and roasted chestnuts from a vendor we were ready to head home to a nice warm house.

Being down in the city is C-O-L-D..............

December 2.

SNOW

Bob got called to work so he's happy for the overtime.

Muffin jumped around in the snow for a minute and quickly realized it was cold so she was ready to come back in the house ASAP....

Yeah............

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.......

Now we just have to get the tree down from the attic.!!!!

Thanksgiving

So I guess it's been a while since I've updated my blog. (Yeah - I know - No big surprise there...)
Thanksgiving has come and gone.
This year we went out for dinner instead of having it at the house.
On a good note - It saved me from a lot of cooking and cleaning.
On a bad note - It cost and arm and a leg.

Still, Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for all your Blessings.

I read a quote on line recently: "Grant me the patience to deal with my blessings"
I like that quote.
We all have blessings. It's just sometimes we have to make sure they dont get on our nerves....

Well, on to Christmas.... Then New Years...
Hey - Maybe 2008 will be a good one.
I'll be more organized, I'll be more creative, I'll update my blog more.........

Oh, who knows about 2008....
Just let me get through 2007........

Happy Birthday Laura

My best friend Laura turned 40 on Wednesday. Her daughter turns 9 on the 15th. Halloween is just around the corner. What does this mean???? Great reasons to have a PARTY!!!
Oh and what a wonderful party it was.
Laura's house was decorated wonderfully. Everyone came in costume.
Everyone had a wonderful time.

ScrapPink Weekend

I'm TIRED!!!!
I went to a ScrapPink event at Momento on Saturday.
I was there from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday till 3:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The reason I went was to take two WONDERFUL classes from Cheryl Mezzetti.
One was a leaf book and one was a haunted chip board castle.

Cheryl is a wonderful teacher and I would definitely take a class with her again.


Other than these projects I really did not get much done.
I did make a cute Note Pad just for fun. I figure I can jot down some song titles and notes on what the songs mean to me.
