Nice, huh..........

Starbucks - They are back - Better than ever......

There are many professions that require "Continuing Education" but of all those professions, a Barista at Starbucks is not one I would have thought of. Well, not until yesterday when all the Starbucks in the United States (about 7,100 stores) all closed their doors from 5:30 pm for three hours so their Baristas can be trained on the techniques of pouring the perfect espresso. A handout labeled “Espresso Excellence” informed them that “without aeration, the milk screams and lacks sweetness.” And: “The perfect milk requires surfing the tip of the steam wand until the sound is SSHHHH.”
WOW...........

So tonight I went to check it out - See what was new - See what was improved.

I am certainly not a judge of fine coffee or anything but I am happy to report that I did find a new coffee I LOVE - A "Venti Honey Latte" - Please don't even ask me how many calories this thing has because I dont want to think about it........ YIKES!!!! But it is oh, sooooo YUMMY!!!

Just ask my new little friend the "Bear-Ista" bear that I could not resist buying.

I know - I know...... Why do I need a bear dressed up like a bunny????
Uh........... Probably for the same reason that I need to spend five bucks on a cup of coffee.

I just do - So there......

Well, I am going to sit here with my new little Bear-Ista friend and enjoy my latte.

Have a good night..........

Long weekend is over......

Well, the long weekend is over.
Friday was a snowday. - We had about 8 inches of snow so they closed the office. YAY!!!!!!!!

Saturday we stayed home. I was sooooooooooooo tempted to go out and SHOP but I know that is not a good idea for me right now. I have to try to be good and stop buying things "just because". I have too much "stuff" and all it ends up being is clutter.

Sunday - Almost went out - Wanted to go out - Didn't....
Okay - I know....... I know......... I should have done SOMETHING but you know what.
Every once in a while I just absolutely LOVE TO DO NOTHING.
Nothing is really not accurate. I did laundry, tidying up and I actually cooked.
I like doing that stuff.
In another life I want to come back as a domestic goddess......... LOL

Day Off

I took the day off today because there is no school this week.
This video cracks me up - I love the original song by James Blunt but ya gotta admit that this version is funny - Enjoy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rC0Nsba1fWQ&feature=related

Lyrics:

My job is stupid my day’s a bore,
Inside this office from eight to four
Nothin’ ever happens my life is pretty bland,
Pretending that I’m working, pray I don’t get canned.
My Cubicle, My cubicle.
It’s One of Sixty two
It’s my small space in a crowded place
Just a six-by-six foot booth
And I hate it that’s the truth
Well, I give a sigh as the boss walks by,
no one ever talks to me or looks me in the eye.
And I really should work but instead I just sit here and surf the Internet.
In My Cubicle, My cubicle
It doesn’t have a view.
It’s my small space in a crowded place
I sit in solitude.
And sometimes I sit here nude.

Okay - My job isn't THAT bad and I dont recall ever being there in the nude but name one person you know who has not been bored out of their mind at work........

Guess what I had for dinner tonight....

Cooking a good dinner after work is always difficult. I didn't get out of work till after 6:00 so by the time I would actually make a home made meal it would be midnight so sometimes a quick take out is a good thing.
Look what I saw at the restaurant and see if you can guess what we had for dinner:

YUMMY..........

I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you heard me - I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!

OMG
I really did not think I would ever say that again.

In fact I have said so many times that I did NOT want to get married again (after two divorces you'd be a little reluctant too.........)

But this man - This wonderful man did not listen to the words I spoke.

He listened to what is in my heart. He understood that although on the outside I was trying to be strong and not let myself get hurt again, on the inside I was hoping, wishing, praying for someone to come along and make me feel SAFE..........

We have been together for four years now (although we've known each other many, many more years than that).

Each day he doesn't just tell me he loves me, he shows me he loves me.

Well, for Valentine's Day he definitely surprised me...........

He had been telling me he was taking me to a restaurant that was going to be "something different" - In fact he said everything about this Valentine's Day was going to be "something different" (Starting with him giving me a plant instead of my usual roses - see previous post)
Well, he really surprised me with the restaurant. It was a Hungarian Restaurant that I had never know existed. I was so happy.
We sat at a corner table and after we ordered, he let me open the package he had brought with him to the restaurant.
It was in a bag with a card. The card was nice as usual. (He always picks good cards)
The present was double wrapped (He said my son helped wrap it......)
So I open it and think - Oh yay - It's a jewelry cleaner - Well, I do have jewelry to clean so I guess that is good but it's way down on my "What I want for Valentine's Day List"....

THEN........
He reaches over the table with the ring and asks "Will you marry me???"

WHAT??????????????????????????

WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE??????????????????

I did not know what to do - what to say - How to get my jaw from off the floor.........

Yes, he was asking me to marry him..........

So, yes - YES - YES.........

I'm ENGAGED!!!!

.

Cute Valentine's Day Story

When my son was still in day care (he must have been about 5 at the time), they had a "Formal Valentine's Day Dance". He was so handsome - Dressy pants, button down shirt and a TIE....

I went to pick him up after work. We were driving home - Me in the driver's seat, him in the back sitting in his car seat.
So we're driving along and I ask him "How your party" - He said "Good"
I asked him "Did you dance???" - He answered "Yes"
"Who did you dance with??? - "Stephanie Weiss"
"Who else did you dance with??? - "Nobody. Just Stephanie Weiss"

Drive - Stop for stop light - Look at light waiting for it to change when I hear in a little voice coming from the back seat......

"I think I'm in love"

Well, if I wasn't stopped waiting for that light to change I think I would have crashed my car cause I just wanted to grab him and give him such a squeeze cause he is so darn CUTE!!!

Well, he is 14 now - Almost 15.
Poor Stephanie is in the past (Although thank God the teacher had taken a great picture of the two of them holding hands cause I will treasure this story for every)
My son will soon be dating.
Soon will be really telling me he is in love...........

Wait - Stop the clock - Although I cant wait for him to be a grown man and I am sure I will be so proud, I still miss the sound of the sweet little voice..... The cute little things he would say.....
Oh, how I love that kid!!!!!!!!!!

Mint Dreams

Bob LOVES "Mint Dreams".

They are these mint marshmallow candies covered in chocolate.

We used to go to the grocery store and he would wander off and come back snacking on them all the time.

Then suddenly we could never find them.
I tried to get them on line for him for Christmas but they were sold out.

So when I saw that they were back in stock I decided to get them for him for Valentine's Day.
In fact I ordered THREE CASES of them.......... (Oh, believe me - those wont last long around here...... )

So I arranged them in a heart, took a picture (a girl has to have a picture for the scrapbook dont she........) and printed it out and put the picture in his card.

Then I gave him a huge box - full of Mint Dreams.

Oh yeah....... He was happy.

Hey - They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, right - Well, I think some yummy Mint Dreams makes Bob a very happy guy........

.

Dontcha hate it when....

Dontcha hate it when people leave one piece of paper towel on the roll and don't replace it.

Even worse - When they dont replace the toilet paper and leave you there staring at a roll with a teeny tiny little paper left on it...........
Why would you do that to someone??????????
UGH.........

I have learned to be very careful at home and in the office to check before getting caught in a dangerous situation........

So today I was in an artistic mood and decided to leave a note of warning for my fellow female co-workers...........
Okay - I really didn't leave it sitting on the toilet but I did get a few laughs when I showed people my empty paper towel roll artwork............

Valentine's Day - Part One

So Bob surprised me at work today. He brought me a plant for my office. I named him "Robert". So here he is - Meet "Robert Plant"

He said that instead of buying me the typical dozen roses for Valentine's Day he wanted to do something different.

Which actually I like because he usually gets me red roses and I keep telling him I am not particularly fond of red roses - I love roses - just not red ones.
I said I like things that are "different".

Well, Mr. Robert Plant is different.

I LOVE IT.......

Now I wonder what other surprises he has for me....
